Teisha Fowler, LCHMCA

Graduate of Walden University where I earned my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a  dual specialization in Trauma and Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling. As your counselor, I am passionate about helping clients find the inner strength they need to face all obstacles they may face in life. 

I work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds on issues including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, grief and loss, and other mental health and life concerns. I have experience working with adolescents, adults, families, couples, and groups within urban communities. I believe that my role as a Counselor is to collaborate with my clients and work with them to solve their issues. 

Vonda Simmons, Director of Family Support Services

Vonda Simmons is a certified life coach.

Vonda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a concentration in Education. Vonda lives in Belmont, NC, with her children and surrounds herself with family and friends. The daily affirmation and scripture that she stands on are all things that are possible through Christ that strengthens me.

Vonda is well equipped to challenge building programs through the power of connection and relationships. As a life coach, she helps you clarify your goals, identifies the obstacles holding you back, and then comes up with strategies for overcoming each obstacle. In creating these strategies, life coaches target your unique skills and gifts.

Anne Wiggins, LCSW

Mrs.Wiggins is a mental health professional with ten years of experience, specializing in working with all ages during stressful times.  She assists with bringing oneself back to independence and improving self-worth through movement therapy; solution-focused CBT, reality-based treatment, and structure. When you feel out of control or disappointed, she is here to assist you with finding peace of mind. 

She can provide problem-solving, coping, and organizational skills to assist with. She is an empathetic and loving individual who easily understands what you might be going through.

Mrs. Wiggins helps with ADHD, stress management, and anxiety to assist with providing appropriate coping skills… I truly believe everything happens for a reason and together we can “Dance in the Rain.” We can create a working alliance to improve your relationship with yourself and others. We can do it together. You are not alone.

Shkeitha Young, LCSW, TF-CFB

Ms.Young completed her first degree in 2006 at North Carolina A&T State University where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Social Work. 

Ms. Young later continued her education in 2007 with accumulating a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of South Carolina. After completing her training, Ms. Young obtained a six-month position in England, the United Kingdom working with teenagers aging out of the foster care system.

Ms. Young was able to assist many teenagers without families to locate and maintain stable housing and support them with continuing their education. 

Ms. Young later returned to the United States where she obtained her LCSW to provide individual and family counseling. 

Jessica Burstein, LCSW

Ms. Burstein is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a certified trauma specialist. She works with individuals who are struggling with a wide variety of issues that include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, PTSD, in addition to other interpersonal stressors. She works with these individuals to help them find relief and better ways of managing these symptoms to ensure one can maintain a healthy quality of life.

She believes that human beings are resilient by nature and can find relief from emotional distress. She helps those find the balance between releasing emotional pain while at the same time utilizing healthy coping skills. Every person at some point in their life has experienced a negative emotion.


When these emotions stay elevated over some time, they can interfere with every facet of life. Ms. Burstein is here to help individuals walk through their feelings, healthily release them, and help them continue progressing towards their individualized goals.

Angela Hargrow, Psychologist, PhD

While I work with most people who come through the door, my ideal clients are women, age 30 and above who are unhappy, stressed out, frustrated and who feel they are at a crossroads in their lives. They want change but are not sure how to go about implementing changes to their lives. Women who desire to live their best life now.
I specialize in working with people who are ready to change their lives. People who are sick and tired of being sick and tired. People who know that they want a change and just need help getting and staying on the path. Peoples whose anxiety, depression and fears are getting in their way.

Susan Curtis, Psychiatrist, PhD

The path to wellness is a journey in which we all have to nurture ourselves in order to not just survive but thrive. My goal is to help you in both accepting yourself where you are on your journey, while learning to have compassion for yourself so you can continue on your path to be your best self. I will work with you on identifying your treatment goals, taking into account the biological, psychological, and social aspects of your situation.
I attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina, then completed Psychiatry residency and Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship in Harvard affiliated programs in Massachusetts. After working in multiple teaching hospitals as an attending, instructor, and residency program director, I returned home several years ago to be closer to family.

David Henderson, Medical Doctor, MD

Dr. Henderson graduated from the Wake Forest School of Medicine,Wake Forest School of Medicine in 1994. He works in Charlotte, NC and 3 other locations and specializes in Internal Medicine and Other Specialty. Dr. Henderson is affiliated with Piedmont Medical Center, Carolinas Medical Center, Carolinas Medical Center Mercy, Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, Novant Health Matthews Medical Center, Carolinas Medical Center Pineville and The Outer Banks Hospital.

Ebony Chambers, LCSWA

Graduate of University of South Carolina with a Master of Social Work Degree. I have over 10 years of experience working with children and families. I believe that change happens when people are given the support they need to utilize their own strengths. My goal is to provide compassion and support to help individuals overcome obstacles to push forward and thrive. I enjoy making a difference in people’s lives. There is no obstacle too big or too small to overcome.
